Bowling and Emperor Simon

We took Simon bowling for the first time last night. He was very serious and focused about the whole thing, but thought it was awesome. As we were driving early this morning he was really quiet, then suddenly said, "Daddy came home and we went bowling. We pushed the ball and knocked down the little white bats. I like it."
It is so funny how he tries to express what he's thinking. When he can't remember the right word for something he just describes it the best he can. Funny little dude.

The Home Stretch (no pun intended)

Happy 36 weeks to me today! This pregnancy has seemed to last a really really long time. It is finally coming to a close, and we are getting super excited to meet this little girl. Check out how much she's grown!

28 Weeks vs. 36 Weeks

I'm getting pretty anxious to see how Simon reacts to all of this. He's become very comfortable with being an only child. Whenever we ask him when the baby is coming he keeps saying "The baby will come on Thursday. It will open the tummy door." Ah, if only it were that simple.

Christmas

We had a fun Christmas this year. It was awesome to watch Simon learn about everything this year and really start to grasp an understanding of it all.

Making Cookies

Also, unrelated to making cookies but something that made my day. Simon was eating his breakfast and I asked him if he wanted a banana. He responded in what we like to call his "sweet voice", "No thank you. Can I have some strawberries please?" Yes, he got strawberries and yes, he knows how to manipulate his mommy.

Tree Hunt

We had a fun Thanksgiving this year. We spent the morning with Georgia and family at the zoo. It was a lot more crowded than I anticipated, but Simon and Johnny had fun seeing all the animals get their special treats. Later we had a delicious dinner at my parent's house and spent more time with family. It was a good day!
Following tradition we headed up to the cabin the next day to find our Christmas tree.

It was a gorgeous day to go. Simon was a trooper and walked most of the way up the side of the mountain. Thanks Mom and Dad B for picking up the permits and organizing the trip!

Trick or Treat

I didn't get a picture of the whole family together, but here are a few of Simon (Mario) and Ryan (Luigi) out Trick or Treating. Ryan was such a good sport, I couldn't find cheap overalls so we improvised with these sweet snow pants I found at the DI. He's also missing his awesome mustache, but you get the idea.

Georgia was sweet and had us all over for dinner before we went around her neighborhood. Simon loved trick or treating and walked the whole way this year and insisted on carrying his bucket the whole time (which was pretty heavy by the end of the night).
