Pink Elephant on Parade

In contrast with my grumpy face in this picture, life is good! I'm astounded at how large that stomach has become. We are getting so ready and excited to have this baby!
Ryan is excited to have finally picked a graduate program and we are currently looking into living near BYU. I think this poor baby is doomed to be a Y fan. How can he avoid it when living in Utah County? I'm quickly becoming outnumbered.

Grad school decision

I submitted my acceptance to BYU for graduate school today. I was still on the wait list at VCU pending a funding decision from the graduate school, and it was getting close to the deadline for response to the BYU offer. Kristine and I were both ready to make a decision and start moving forward, and there are a lot of great reasons to go with BYU. We are excited, and glad that we will still be close to so many members of the family! Thanks for everyone's support through the long application process. We can't believe its finaly over.

Quick Grad School Update

Hey, "Jason" here. I have 5 finals to do before tomorrow afternoon, so until those are over and I pass my classes this doesn't really mean much, but I got the official word from BYU, so if all goes well over the next 32 hours I won't be manning the counter at 7-11 next year. Still haven't heard from VCU yet. It always takes forever for the departments to coordinate with the graduate schools.

What's in a name?

This sweet lady in my ward is throwing a baby shower for us. We got the invite the other day. They are extremely creative and cute. You can tell a lot of time was spent on these things. I opened it up to give it a read and once I reached the 4th line of the enclosed poem something was a little off...

"Here's a sweet little tidbit that's worth quite a chew!
A bundle of joy all trundled in blue,
Will in just a few weeks his debut ensue,
Making Kristine & Jason parents brand new!"

I don't have the heart to say anything. I told Ryan, if anyone in the ward calls him Jason he should just to go along with it. :)

5 more years?

A member of the graduate committee told me I was in at BYU, so the letter should be in the mail. At some point I will have the final official acceptance. Should hear from VCU in the next 2 weeks I think if they are deciding on the 15th.

Just a Little Longer

Ryan finally got fed up with VCU and sent them an email inquiring about his status. They said they will be making their final decisions on April 15th. We don't know if that means they will be sending letters out on April 15th, but we assume it will be soon after. At least we can stop stalking the mail man for the next week and a half!
