Blessing

We blessed Carmen on Sunday. Thanks for everyone who was able to come to the blessing and lunch. It was fun to see so much of our family and friends. Here are some pictures for those of you who weren't able to be there in person.


She's been smiling the last couple weeks, but I haven't really been able to capture it on camera yet. This is the closest I've come. I thought it was pretty hilarious.

Chunky Monkey

Enjoying this hilarious, though extremely opinionated toddler and his sister. Simon was never much of a chunky baby, so I'm enjoying the rolls this little girl has to offer.

Tummy time. This baby has rolled over from tummy to back multiple times in the last week. At first I thought it was just a fluke, but she keeps doing it! She's growing up WAY too fast.

Simon singing Ella Elephant (his latest favorite) to Carmen. He is getting more comfortable with her. He will hold her once in a while if I wrap the boppy around him. He loves to give her kisses or the pacifier when she cries. If she doesn't stop crying immediately he gets a disappointed look on his face and says, "It didn't work this time."

Daddy Rocks

This little girl is doing good! She was 8 lbs 12 oz at her 2 week check up, so she's eating well and staying healthy. She's a sweet baby and we are crazy about her. Simon adores her, but is still very cautious and careful around her (which is fine by me). So far so good as a family of 4!

Happy Fat Tuesday!

Mumsy and Gus have been in town to meet baby Carmen and play with Simon. On Tuesday they introduced Simon to the fun of Mardi Gras. Now every day Simon wants it to be Fat Tuesday.

Carmen Sophia

Born 2.12.12. 8 lbs 6 oz, 20 inches long. She is doing great! She had a few days on the lights for jaundice, but she handled it really well and is finally done. I can't believe she's already over a week old.

While I'm Waiting

We are anxiously awaiting the arrival of this little girl. In the mean time, I've been making a few things to keep my mind occupied with other things.

My sister in law Emily inspired me to make one of these car seat cover blanket things.


I've been wanting to make these soft baby shoes for about three years now, but I was always too intimidated by the task. I finally sat down and just did it yesterday. It wasn't as scary as I thought, and now I have the confidence to try making more.


Hopefully one of the next couple posts on here will be of a squishy new baby. Wish me luck!

Bowling and Emperor Simon

We took Simon bowling for the first time last night. He was very serious and focused about the whole thing, but thought it was awesome. As we were driving early this morning he was really quiet, then suddenly said, "Daddy came home and we went bowling. We pushed the ball and knocked down the little white bats. I like it."
It is so funny how he tries to express what he's thinking. When he can't remember the right word for something he just describes it the best he can. Funny little dude.
