Quick update

Simon is off the lights now and doing great! Thanks for everyone's support and prayers.

No fun...

You may have noticed in some of Simon's pictures that he is almost as orange as an Oompa-Loompa. His jaundice spiked to 19 on Monday so we have to lay him under the lights. He has been the perfect baby so far because he loves to be held and cuddled so much that he didnt cry. We can't hold him when he is on the lights so that makes him pretty sad. He got checked today and his levels were still high, but going down. Hopefully tomorrow he will drop down low enough to come off the lights. At least this light machine makes him feel a little bit dressed since it has a front and sleeves for him - some of them are like tanning beds they have to lie in just in their diapers. Wish Simon a speedy recovery!

We are home...

Im trying to post lots of pictures for his Grandma and Grandpa who are on a mission in Kirtland, OH. We miss you guys!

Meet Simon David VanYperen

Simon was born on May 21 2009 and is 7 pounds 9 ounces and 19 inches long. He and Kristine are both doing great. Wait till you see this hair!

Getting so Close

13 days until my due date. We'll see when this little guy decides to show up. It is the weirdest feeling to wake up every day and think "Today could be the day".

Things are going great for us. We found an awesome apartment in Orem that we are really happy about. We won't officially move until after the baby comes, but this last Saturday was our first day on the lease, so we took a few boxes down and organized some things. We are getting really excited for all the fun changes coming in the next short while.

Happy Anniversary

It's already been two years?!?! Since it's kind of a hectic day today, we did most of our celebrating last night. I made dinner, and Ryan came home with a rose and a surprise present of some beautiful diamond earrings. He's been saving up his plasma money for months to get these, and they are gorgeous. The man has been spoiling me with gifts lately. What an awesome guy I married.
I had another doc appointment today. I can't believe we've made it to the point where I'll be going every week. Not much longer! Everything is still looking great. We asked my doctor if he could tell how big the baby was, but he said it's a tough read since he's packed in there so tight. Poor guy has a few more weeks to go, but no more room.

Mothers Day

Women's conference was at BYU this week so the campus was crawling with Relief Society women. I went upstairs in the bookstore to try to buy an Organic Chemistry book and saw this artist selling some of her work up there. I got Kristine a couple for Mother's day since we dont have a single thing to hang up in our house. Since I am horrible at waiting until actual events to give out presents, I gave them to her already. I really like the pictures done by this artist and she gave me a big discount when I told her I would recommend her if anyone is interested. She probably also felt sorry for me since I was the only person in the crowd of several hundred who was not a woman. Her name is Liz Lemon Swindle.
