We are all doing really well here. Simon is learning everything super fast. He now has to pull himself up on everything, and loves to walk around holding on to furniture, Mom, Dad, or Chloe.

My Latest Projects

Since I've been staying home with Simon I've realized a few things...
1- We are extremely poor since I'm not working anymore
2- I have a little more time on my hands than I used to
So I've embarked on a couple of projects over the last few months to keep me occupied and to save us a little cash.

I really wanted a glider for our nursery, but we could never bring ourselves to spend the money since there were so many other baby things we needed to buy. A few months after Simon was born I was strolling through the DI and found this baby for $20.

$10, painting, and a little sewing later...

This is Simon trying it out when he was about 5 months.

Simon also needed some drawers and once again, the DI had just what I was looking for. $15 drawers, $5 paint and $2 hardware (thank you IKEA)- can't beat that! I forgot to take a before pic, just picture it yellow, sparkley, and no handles. This was the final outcome...


My latest was a cover for Simon's next car seat. Rich and Les were kind enough to give us Bentley's old seat. Thanks again guys! Plus I was given a great sewing machine for my birthday from Mom and Dad B (which I love, thanks!) So it was a good sewing project to take on to help me learn. I looked online and these covers usually cost about $50. Yikes!

Since they don't make patterns for this I kind of just made it up as I went along, but this was the final outcome...

Same Old

It's been a while since we've updated anything on here. Life is the same- Simon and Chloe are growing like weeds, Ryan is working hard on school, and my current project is learning to sew.
Simon has mastered his crawl. It's more of a scoot, but he can move super fast. His favorite place to crawl to is anything he's not allowed to play with - cords, chloe's food, etc. He's starting to learn what "no" means and he's also learning he can choose to listen or not when it's said. :)

The huge black fuzz on the right side of this picture is Chloe. Simon LOVES this dog. He's always interested in what she's doing and loves to pat her on the head. He's learned to be soft with her, but sometimes he gets a little too excited and needs a reminder. Chloe is the BEST dog and puts up with all of his prodding and pulling. She is a gentle giant (currently weighing about 80 lbs). She loves to cuddle up to him whenever she gets the chance.

As mentioned before, Simon is growing amazingly fast. He eats A TON to keep up with his growing body. I've had many people comment that they've never seen a baby eat so much so well.




This kid is a little ball of energy. He's got such a funny little sense of humor. He's so much fun to play with. He loves to be silly and try different things. Isn't it funny how personalities present themselves so early in our lives?
Ryan and I love this boy. Life is good!

Simon's Latest

Due to Simon's asthma we have to do breathing treatments every morning and night for the next month to see if it helps him out. The other night I guess he was a little more tired than we realized.

He is still working on crawling, but not quite there yet. He'll get up on all fours and rock back and forth, but that's about the extent of things. He insists on sleeping like this most of the time. Maybe he's crawling in his dreams?

Due to the steroids we have to give this kid for his asthma he gets major "roid rage". Walks always seem to keep him occupied and calm him down. So even though it's FREEZING we bundle up and take Chloe around our beloved park.
